Announcements For The Week Of January 13-17

Monday
January 13th, 2020

Sports and Activity:

1. Freshman boys basketball at Fieldcrest at 6pm

2. High school girls basketball has a game tonight at home vs Ridgeview at 6pm

3. There will be an informational meeting for all students interested in joining the high school track and field team on Monday, January 13th during flex in Coach Updegraff's room. The boys will meet at 2:20pm, followed by the girls meeting at 2:40pm. If you can't make the meeting, please speak with Coach Updegraff.

Junior high boys basketball have a home game vs Tri-Valley at 5:30

Club and Class News:

1.Flexes are in the process of being updated. Check your schedule in Skyward during 7th hour to make sure you report to the correct Flex

2. There is a junior high student council meeting, during lunch, on Tuesday in Mrs.
Dorgan's room. With permission from your teacher, leave your fourth hour class a
few minutes early to get your lunch.

Tuesday

January 14th, 2020

 

Sports and Activity:

 

  • High school boys basketball have a game at home tonight vs Ridgeview at 5:30. 

 

  •  This evening the JH wrestling team has an away meet at Bloomington George Evans Junior High School.  The bus to Evans leaves the High School at 3pm. The bus from the Elementary School will be leaving at 2:50pm. 

 

 

 

 

Club and Class News:

 

      1.Congratulations to the following students who won the Silver Key Award at the     Scholastic Art Competition in Springfield. Morgan Spencer for her ceramic tea cup set and also won an honorable mention for her mural painting.  Colin Norsworthy also received a Silver Key Award for his Tea pot set. Ahnnika Hess won an honorable mention in the drawing category. Great Job Artists!  The works will be on display at the Springfield Art Association gallery and an awards ceremony will be on Sunday January 26th,1:00 p.m. at Springfield High School.

 

  1. There is a junior high student council meeting, during lunch today in Mrs. 

          Dorgan's room.  With permission from your teacher, leave your fourth hour class a

LUNCH TODAY: Today is Cheese Quesadilla, Chips and Salsa, Refried Beans, Fresh Fruits and Veggies and a Sidekick Slushie

JH wresters have a meet at Porta JH at 5pm


Club and Class News:
1. JUNIOR HIGH STUDENTS:
Your submissions for YEARBOOK COVER art are due to Mrs. Nelson by the end of next Wednesday, January 22nd .If you are interested in being in YEARBOOK CLUB, your applications are also due next Wednesday. Applications are available on the bulletin board outside Mrs. Nelson's classroom.Please see Mrs. Nelson before or after school if you have any questions.

2. Attention all 8th graders, turn in your Jostens 2024 order forms in the main office by Wednesday, Jan. 22. This is a one time offer for these clothing items so don’t miss out on this opportunity.

LUNCH TODAY: Biscuits and Gravy, Sausage Patties, Breakfast Potatoes, Pineapple Chunks, and Fruit Juice!

Your submissions for YEARBOOK COVER art are due to Mrs. Nelson by the end of next Wednesday, January 22nd .If you are interested in being in YEARBOOK CLUB, your applications are also due next Wednesday. Applications are available on the bulletin board outside Mrs. Nelson's classroom.Please see Mrs. Nelson before or after school if you have any questions.

3. Attention all students! Make sure you bring money to school next week. Our school is having a bake sale where the proceeds go to leukemia research. The bake sale will be in the mornings before school and will be located in the main lobby as you walk in. If we all as a school raise at least $150 Mr. Kirkton has agreed to shave his beard and mustache in a style of our choosing.

 

LUNCH TODAY: Choice of Cheese or Sausage Pizza, Baked Chips, Dressed Salad, Mixed Fruit, and a Cookie.
