The following message was sent to all Heyworth families via email today (07/01/2020):
Dear Heyworth Families,
Our transition team met today to review the guidance provided from the Illinois State Board of Education and discuss our transition planning process. Our team will be designing a plan for the reopening of schools and updating our eLearning Program.
Our goal is to return to in person instruction this fall while following ISBE guidelines (face masks required unless qualify for an exception; prohibiting of groups over 50; social distancing as much as possible; increased cleaning and sanitizing, etc). As guidelines change, our plans also change. We hope to have a final plan shared with all families in early August and will provide regular updates throughout July.
As you know registration opened today - Please register as soon as possible so we know if you plan to send your child for in person instruction or not. We plan to have an online option for families who do not send students for in person instruction. We will reach out to those families directly to share our option at a later date.
We have several subcommittees in place to discuss Remote Learning, Grading & Attendance, Support Services, Technology and Facilities. Please let me know if you would like to be a part of the planning process; we will use surveys to reach all families as needed.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
Dr. Lisa Taylor, Superintendent of Schools
