Public Health Update

Good Morning,

This is to inform you that a Heyworth CUSD #4 student athlete has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been in contact with other Heyworth students.

I have spoken with the McLean County Health Department as well as the Regional Office of Education, and we are suspending all athletic activities through the month of July. We will use this time to deep clean our buildings and athletic facilities. We will allow athletic activities to resume on August 3rd if it is safe to do so at that time. Mrs. Hicklin will follow up with the senior class and their families regarding graduation.

The McLean County Health Department will be reaching out to families who have been in direct contact with anyone who tests positive. We are encouraging all students who have participated in school sports this summer to get tested, especially if showing any of the identified symptoms. We are encouraging all community members to maintain safe social distances, wear masks in public when social distancing cannot be maintained, and to wash your hands regularly to help do our part in combatting the virus.

Please contact Dr. Lisa Taylor directly with any questions. Thank you and be safe!
