Guidance
Introduction
Welcome to the Heyworth High School Guidance Page! 2025-2026 is my 10th year at Heyworth! As the School Counselor for grades 7-12, I wear many hats. I provide academic support, course planning and scheduling, mental health support, referrals to outside organizations, crisis intervention, testing coordination, and more.
I maintain partnerships with the Bloomington Career Academy (formerly BACC), Heartland Community College, and other local organizations. As part of the Heyworth Safety Nest, Rebecca Freeman (Tri-County School Social Worker), Luke Jacinski (Tri-County School Psychologist), Nathan Lawler (HJHHS Assistant Principal), and Michelle Carr (Heyworth Elementary School Social Worker) and I ensure the needs of all students are met, especially concerning mental health. I work closely with Dr. Katie Bruemmer in her role as the College & Career Coordinator. Colleges and military reps wishing to arrange visits, and employers promoting open positions, should contact Dr. Bruemmer at bruemmerk@husd4.org.
I love being part of the Heyworth community! We provide an incredible span of educational opportunities, preparing students for success in all vocations. The staff care so much about students. Transfer students thrive in our environment. My favorite part of the job is getting to know students individually, and I think we are the best "small" district in the state!
Best,
Rebecca Stanton
