Mr. Lawler is entering his 9th year at Heyworth High School. He teaches US History, Civics, Consumers and History Through Film. He is also the Head Varsity Women's Basketball Coach.

He graduated from EIU with a Bachelor's Degree in History with Teacher Licensure and then earned his Master's Degree from ISU in Education. He published his Master's Thesis "Incorporating Black Voices and Perspectives into U.S. History Curricula within Small, Rural Midwestern Schools" in 2021.
