Paraprofessionals
Paraprofessionals play a vital role in the classroom. Heyworth CUSD #4 employs licensed paraprofessionals to provide direct support to students across the district from early learning to high school. The relationship between teachers and paraprofessionals not only serves as a social model for students but can also provide great opportunities for instruction and learning. In addition to providing support to students, each Paraprofessional performs many other responsibilities within their day.
Work collaboratively with students, teachers, parents and administrators
Implementing teacher- planned instruction
Supporting individual student needs
Supervising small groups of students
Providing behavioral and social supports
Assisting students with personal care
Demonstrates flexibility
Meets/ escorts students as designated times
Completes checklists/ point sheets/ data charts on student performance
Demonstrates positive interpersonal relations with administration, staff and students
Demonstrates effective communication skills
Participates in professional growth activities
