Welcome to Heyworth Jr. Sr. High School! It has been an honor to serve as the principal of our 7th-12th grade building for the past seven years. Working with the families of Heyworth has been an incredibly rewarding experience, and I am proud to say that this is the best staff I have ever had the privilege to work with. Together, we are dedicated to supporting and nurturing our students to meet their individual needs. Thanks to this collaborative approach, we've been able to implement changes that will help us progress toward success. We are fortunate to serve families who deeply value education and are committed to the success of our students. The support from our community has been crucial to our achievements. Though Heyworth is a small town, we have big ambitions to provide our families with an exceptional educational experience, including opportunities typically found in larger school districts.
Each year, we evaluate our programs to ensure that we are offering our students rigorous coursework, college credit, accredited career and technical applications, and elective courses that align with their interests.
Based on our assessments and feedback from the previous school year, we continuously improve our curriculum and course offerings. We continue to look for opportunities to offer dual credit courses while we continue to enhance our Advanced Placement program and maintain our partnership with the Bloomington Area Career Center to provide career and technical learning opportunities. On campus, we offer a variety of technical classes, including Video Production, Agricultural Sciences, Journalism, and Entrepreneurship. We are especially proud to provide several exploratory classes to all of our Jr. High students.
